WASHINGTON, November 22, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — The National Sleep Foundation (NSF) today announced the selection of Susan RedlijnMD, MPH, as the award-winning magazine’s next editor-in-chief Sleep Health. Dr. Redline is the Peter C. Farrell Professor of Sleep Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and professor in the department of epidemiology at the Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health. Dr. Redline will join Orfeu M. Buxton, PhD, Elizabeth Fenton Susman Professor of Biobehavioral Health and director of the Sleep, Health & Society Collaboratory Pennsylvania State University.
The contributions of Dr. Redline on population sleep health are numerous and closely aligned with NSF’s public focus and mission. The research of Dr. Redline focuses on the role of genetics, early life developmental factors, and environmental exposure on sleep health. In addition, Redline examines how social and environmental factors influence sleep health disparities, which in turn drive chronic health disparities; and the role of sleep interventions in improving health, including cardiovascular, metabolic, and cognitive disorders.
