A huge League of Legends leak has confirmed that a number of things are coming to the game from Arcane’s second season in 2025, including a complete visual and gameplay rework of Viktor, a Noxus-themed season in 2025, and another Arcane champion that coming to LoL.
It’s no surprise that Riot is leaning entirely on Arcane considering how successful it has been. Ambessa Medarda was the first champion to come along, and her child will be next.
Mel Medarda is coming to both League of Legends and TFT in early 2025, with her model already leaked to give us a glimpse of her in the game.
It’s not yet clear what she’ll do or how the Noxus season will unfold, but it’s clear that there’s a lot coming to League of Legends.
Mel Medarda is coming to League of Legends
There’s a lot happening in 2025, but the biggest news is Mel Medarda arriving and a Noxus champion getting a full VGU, similar to the treatment Viktor gets.
It’s been a very, very long time since Summoner’s Rift last had a makeover, and that’s partly due to engine limitations. There is a distinct possibility that the engine will change soon, with BigBadBear discussing the possible benefits of the switch. For now, however, it looks like LoL won’t get an engine update until 2026.
As for Mel Medarda’s model, this is what she will look like in the game:
She has the same kind of arcane magic we see on the show, with her League of Legends iteration being a reflection of where her power level is at the end of the show.
With Swain teased at the end of Arcane season 2, it should come as no surprise that Noxus is next. As for the Noxus VGU, LeBlanc is the most likely candidate, given the Black Rose’s key role in the events of Arcane and Swain’s existence.
However, there are some other Noxian champions like Vladimir and Talon who have extremely dated character models and kit designs that could use some love. LeBlanc is by no means a guarantee, even though she most likely is.
Additionally, Atakhan, a character from Legends of Runeterra, will become a new neutral jungle boss that spawns near the track with the most kills (or the most damage if no kills have been committed).
BigBadBear’s video shows parts of this leaked map, with Atakhan’s helmet next to a track with black roses blooming from it.
2025 will be an exciting time for League of Legends, harkening back to the days of massive updates, quickly released champions and reworks, and even a new look for Summoner’s Rift.
