Grand Theft Auto Community Devastated By GTA 6 Trailer No-Show Announcement After Moon Theory Debunked

Rockstar was set to make a GTA 6 Trailer 2 announcement today, November 22, according to a moon theory that had the Grand Theft Auto community into overdrive.

A year after Rockstar’s internet-breaking GTA 6 Trailer 1 release, information-hungry fans are watching images of the moon as they desperately search for clues in Trailer 2.

Why are they doing this? Because the moon theory turned out to be true for Trailer 1. Two months before Trailer 1 came out, Rockstar released a GTA Online image showing the moon in a phase (Waning Gibbous) that ended up corresponding to the day Rockstar announced Trailer’s release date. 1.

Fast forward to early November 2024 and Rockstar’s release of another GTA Online image below, which features – you guessed it – the moon in its waning gibbous phase. The real moon ends its current waning phase today, November 22, and moves into its last quarter phase starting tomorrow. And so, fans thought today would be the last possible day for Trailer 2 itself or for an announcement of when it would be released.

Unfortunately for its followers, this time the moon theory turned out not to be true. 9 a.m. Eastern, when Take-Two, Rockstar’s New York-based parent company, tends to make its announcements, has disappeared without a peep.

The GTA community is struggling to deal with this and is using social media, Discords and subreddits to question their worldview.

It is It’s notable that Rockstar hasn’t followed up GTA 6 Trailer 1 with any new information for almost a year. With GTA 6’s fall 2025 release window on PS5 and Xbox Series But will the moon show fans the way? Or is Rockstar just messing with its fan base, as has happened so many times in the past?
