If anyone on your holiday shopping list is craving a Sony PlayStation video game console, Black Friday is a great time to shop – and there are already plenty of deals in the lead-up to the seasonal shopping season.
Sony’s own PlayStation Store has unveiled its Black Friday specials on PlayStation 5 consoles, the PlayStation VR2 virtual reality headset, select games and accessories. Most deals are available now through December 25; they include $75 off PlayStation 5 consoles and $200 or more off a VR2 headset. Some popular video games are discounted by 60%.

Other retailers, including Amazon, Best Buy, Target and Walmart, have Black Friday specials on PlayStation consoles. Here’s an overview of the deals.
PlayStation Store Black Friday 2024 deals: PS5 consoles
You can shop directly at Sony’s PlayStation Store (direct.playstation.com), where you can find deals until December 25 in most cases. Here are the Black Friday deals for PS5 consoles, some bundled with games:
- PlayStation 5 slim console. Has a disc drive that can play 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray discs, Blu-ray discs and DVDs. (Black Friday sale price, $424.99; regular price, $499.99). For the same price, you can also get a PS5 slim console with a voucher to download the Fortnite Cobalt Star game ($424.99).
- PlayStation 5 Slim Digital Edition. Has a 1 terabyte solid-state drive (retail price, regular price $374.99, $449.99). For the same price, you can get a PS5 Slim Digital Edition with a voucher to download the NBA 2K25 video game (retail price $374.99; regular price $499.99) or a PS5 Slim Digital console bundled with the Fortnite Cobalt Star video game ($374.99). ).

Amazon Black Friday deals on PlayStation 5 consoles
Amazon’s Black Friday deals have already started, with many offers on video game consoles, games and accessories. The event runs until November 29. This will be followed by a Cyber Monday event from November 29 through December. 2. Here are some PlayStation 5 deals from Amazon:

Target’s Black Friday Week deals run from Sunday, November 24 through Saturday, November 30. (Note: Some PlayStation 5 consoles are discounted during the retailer’s Early Black Friday deals – valid until Saturday, November 23.)

(You can currently get a Black Friday deal on a Walmart+ membership: 50% off the $98 annual fee; benefits include free shipping, gas discounts, savings at Burger King, and Paramount+ streaming).

PlayStation Store Black Friday deals: PlayStation Plus
PlayStation Plus is Sony’s video game streaming service with multiplayer gaming, hundreds of games to play and discounts on game purchases. Prices start at $9.99 per month for the basic Essential subscription, which includes multiplayer gaming and a selection of new games to play every month.
But newcomers can save up to 30% on a 12-month premium membership with a Black Friday price of $119.99 (regularly $159.99), which includes cloud streaming of games and movies. Other Black Friday deals include 25% off the Extra tier (12-month sale price $101.24; regular price $134.99; fits between the base Essential tier and the highest Premium tier) and, for newcomers, 20% off discount on Essential level (12-month price sale, $63.99; regular price $79.99).
Current PlayStation Plus members can save 25% to 30% by upgrading levels.
