NWSL: Washington Spirit vs. Orlando Pride

It’s 2024 NWSL Championship weekend, folks! The top two teams in the league will battle it out this season when Orlando Pride and Washington Spirit meet at CPKC Stadium in Kansas City on Saturday. You can catch all the action on CBS and Paramount+, kicking off at 8 PM ET. Looking ahead to this, Michele Kang’s DC outfit will undoubtedly be considered favorites against the Pride as their rise to contention was not expected across the board. Pardeep Cattry looked at the blueprint behind it Transformation of Washington Spirit under Kang while Sandra Herrera had high praise for Orlando’s head coach Seb Hines and newcomer Croix Bethune – both NSWL award winners this week.

She took another bold step this past year by signing UEFA Women’s Champions League winner Jonatan Giraldez as head coach, which he reportedly signed. his salary in Barcelona increased fivefold to get the title done.”

USL: Colorado Springs Switchbacks vs. Rhode Island FC
Before the women determine a champion, the men’s team takes center stage as Colorado Springs and Rhode Island FC battle for the USL title. The road to the final was not easy for either team. Rhode Island finished fifth in the Eastern Conference, but defeated the top two seeds, Louisville City FC and Charleston Battery, back-to-back to get here. Colorado Springs, on the other hand, was the second seed in the West but benefited from top-seeded New Mexico United, whose coach Eric Quill had just been hired by MLS side Dallas FC, who were upset by the Las Vegas Lights. Colorado Springs then dispatched the Lights in the Western Conference finals. It’s been a season and a playoffs where little has gone as expected, so when these two teams meet at noon on CBS, it’s anyone’s guess who will walk away with the trophy.

The final international window of 2024 is over and club football returns with a bang this weekend as Milan clash with Juventus in Serie A. With UEFA Champions League action returning next week, we’re entering the most manic period of the year between now and early January, which will test even the best-rested squads over the next month.

Milan vs. Juventus this weekend, USMNT stars Christian Pulisic and Weston McKennie will line up on either side on Saturday. 💰 THE CHOICE: Sign (+206) — Racing and Cruzeiro meet this weekend at General Pablo Rojas in Asuncion for the final of the CONMEBOL Copa Sudamericana. The Argentinians defeated Corinthians 4-3 in the semi-finals, while the Brazilians narrowly defeated Lanus over two legs. Racing will make their first appearance in a continental final since the 1989 Recopa Sudamericana, which they lost 1-0 to Nacional of Uruguay. Gustavo Costas’ men are in good form with five straight wins in all competitions and a win here would earn a first CONMEBOL title since the 1967 Copa Libertadores. Fernando Diniz has never lost in a CONMEBOL final at club level, with Fluminense won the Copa Libertadores a year ago and the 2024 Recopa Sudamericana. Having conceded just one goal in six of Sudamericana’s away games, a 1-0 defeat to Boca Juniors in the round of 16 is their only defeat on the road. Brazilian sides have lost the last two Sudamericana finals, while Athletico Paranaense were the latest to break the trend in 2021, and Cruzeiro’s last continental success came in 1997 at the Copa Libertadores.
